It was FABULOUS.
I only have time to tell you the set list--it was a great show!
Waiting to Exhale (The Shoop Shoop Song)
Take a Bow (Madonna)
Some Babyface song I don't remember
Fire and Rain (James Taylor)
Change the World (wow--this was grrreat--they both went all out)
Wrong Side of Memphis
Walkaway Joe
HHPOL (she killed it, of course)
Georgia Rain
How Do I Live (Flawless)
They dueted on his stuff, but she sang the lead on most of her's. He's really talented and, given the great chemistry they showed during songs and banter, I bet they will collaberate some day. Trisha's got some soul!

How awesome! Thanks for sharing the set list. I can't wait to see this show later in the month. Can't wait to hear Trisha sing those songs - especially "Waiting to Exhale" and "Change the World"!

Trisha was phenomenal. I sat sixth row and had a clear view of her. She looked amazing in a black top with large sleeves and dark jeans. The set was pretty with backdrop cutouts of stars and stripes. They continually changed the lighting for different colored effects. They came out for a five song set of Babyface stuff (listed above), then left for about five minutes and came back out for a five song set of Trisha stuff (also listed above). It ended by 9:40. They didn't do any retakes and it didn't take nearly as long as they thought it might.
In between songs they bantered and made jokes, especially Trisha in typical fashion.
This was the first time I ever got to see her live (in-person, not on T.V.) and she is absolutely flawless. The spot-on quality of her voice can only be captured live. Heaven Heartache and the Power of Love WAS AMAZING. Walkaway Joe was the best I ever heard her sing it. Ditto that for Wrong Side of Memphis, with some fantastic bluesy guitar licks by her phenomenal guitarist.
It was the best crossroads they've done. They had amazing material to work with and, this time, they actually did a Crossroads with two VERY DIFFERENT artists. Don't miss it when it airs.

Went to the Trisha Yearwood/Babyface taping for CMT Crossroads at Belmont University's Curb Event Center. They did five of his songs (including a cover of James Taylor's "Fire and Rain," a song that will appear on Babyface's Playlist covers album, out Sept. 18) and five of hers. What's the connection? Garth Brooks - Trisha's married to him and Babyface worked on the Chris Gaines project. The show will be the premiere of Crossroads new season this fall - be sure not to miss their duet on "Change the World," which started out sounding like Stevie Wonder's "Living for the City" and then went places I only wish Eric Clapton had explored with his version.

I want to thank the powers that be for the two tickets to see what was history in the making like the man said before the show started...Trisha was AWESOME.. and Kenny Edmonds has a new fan.. but imho Trisha was the powerhouse in the house.. Trisha thanks for a great evening, can't wait to see it on tv again and see how they put it all together .. Janet

Does anyone know if they will start showing music videos for certain songs like they have done for other cross roads??

That's a great point. They should?
Another thing to remember is that although they recorded 5 songs from each artist, they usually only air 4 each, or is it less? I don't remember.

Thanks for all the great reviews and details of what sounds like a wonderful "Crossroads"! I can't wait to see it! Sounds like it went off without a flaw, which is the usual for Trisha - but I had wondered how they would do together! Sounds like a fabulous show - can't wait to see it! Thanks again everyone!

Was wondering if anyone else at the taping took some pictures and would be willing to send me a few? I didn't take my camera as I figured it wouldn't be allowed.. Anyway, will gladly pay for printing and postage..
