I was doing some playing around for a story for my blog yesterday and found the '97 CMAs were on September 24 that year. I didn't realize the awards were held that close to Trisha's birthday that year. Talk about a great b-day present! tongue.gif Anyway, I was watching the clips yesterday and realized it has been 10 years since that magical night and those clips are still amazing to see.

I thought maybe it would be fun for everyone to share what they were doing and what their reactions and thoughts were of that amazing performance directly followed by her first win as CMA female vocalist. I know I'll never forget where I was that night and the chill bumps I got - and still get anytime I see those clips.

Maybe Amber could send it to Trisha along with our birthday wishes thread. What does everyone think?

I think this is a great idea

I was in 5th grade and 10 years old...about to turn 11 lol. But I had stayed up late I belive it was a Weds so it was a school night. My biggest fear for her competition was LeAnn Rimes(I was young and didnt know better) and Patty Loveless. I didnt fear Pam Tillis or Deanna Carter too much. I remember being taken back by her apperance the new slimmed down Trisha in a gorgeous black dress. I was happy as could be after she sang How Do I Live and got her standing ovation. THEN when they announced she won I was estatic I think I even started to cry I was so happy. Only problem was I had a candle burning and I threw my Kleenex up in the air and it landed on the candle and almost burned down my living room. But anyway I will never forget the crowds reaction that night. Unforgettable!

Now that is priceless Cory!! LOL! Let's see, I was 21 and was watching at my apartment in my bedroom. One of my roommates at the time was also a big country fan and she came bursting into the room after Trisha's performance and win because she knew I was a huge fan. We jsut starting screaming we were so excited for her. I just about have my blog story about this done and will post here as well this weekend.
