Several of us I-Squad Members got a chance to see and hear Trisha really up close and personal yesterday! My friends Carolyn, Linda and I (and Trisha fans such as Trishafan4life, Music1 and others) arrived at the Sound Emporium Record Studio (which is where Trisha said she has recorded all her music from "She's In Love With the Boy" to "Heaven, Heartache & the Power of Love") to listen to an acoustic set of songs from her new CD as well as a couple of others.

We got to the recording studio and once we determined that we were in the right place, parked and went inside. I have to say the folks at the Sound Emporium were some of the nicest people I've ever met. They made us, mere Trisha fans, feel like royalty!! We were ushered into a lounge and told if we needed anything to just ask!! While sitting there waiting for whatever was to come, Heather (Trisha's long time fiddle player) came through, so of course we had to chat. I asked he about her kids and was shocked to learn the twins are now 5 years old and her little girl is 18 months old. Wow, time sure does fly! Heather looked great though (even if she does have to chase after 3 little ones now)!! Next, Johnny came through and we got a chance to chat with him a little too. Carolyn and Linda told him how great he was at the Crossroads taping. They joked that it seemed Johnny had to help Babyface out quite a bit on Trisha's songs!!!

Next we were taken into the studio area where Trisha records her music. After getting seats on the front row of course, in walked Amber! We got to chat with her for a little bit and later she took several pictures during the show which I hope she posts those so we can see them!!

The Sirius' rep came out and told us what was going to happen and then introduced the DJ who was going to interview Trisha and then of course, he introduced Trisha! All 12 of us I-Squad Members really whooped it up when Trisha came in!!! Trisha, of course, looked beautiful as always!!

The DJ interviewed her first, then she did some promos for Sirius and then onto the acoustic mini concert.

This was my first time hearing "Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love" live, and of course it was awesome. Trisha said that the response to that song has been so good, that she is now opening shows with it. She also sang "This Is Me You're Talking To" (love that song), "They Call it Falling for A Reason", "Cowboys are My Weakness", "She's In Love With the Boy" and "Smile". In between, she talked about other songs such as "Nothin' ‘bout Memphis, Drown Me and Let the Wind Chase You and lots of other stuff, but I can't remember everything!! Hopefully some of the others who were there, will fill in some blanks.

All in all it was an awesome experience. Getting to see and hear Trisha in such a small intimate atmosphere was kind of like well, Trisha singing just to you in your living room!! She was incredible and I can't wait to hear this broadcast on Sirius Radio. I asked the Sirius rep when we would hear this show and he told me it would be broadcast on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday prior to the release of the CD. Trust me, it will be a broadcast you don't want to miss.

Cindy

Wow! Thanks for sharing with us! Sounds so wonderful!!!! I can't wait to hear it. I forgot about the "Cowboys are my Weakness" song! We heard her sing it in Hyannis in July for the first time and it was so good! What a great time you guys had! Thanks again for sharing it with us!

Hey Cindy - I think we had met before - maybe at the Opry or over the years....... it's only been 16 years with her performing...... biggrin.gif So I recognized you first! lol What was really cool, is me of course had to uh, go to the restroom at the last minute so I asked if I had time, and they said yes, so off I ran........ well when I got back to the entrance of the studio Trisha among others were "blocking" my way.......lol I've met Trisha several times, and she said oh, hey there - so I gave her a hug, and walked quickly back to my seat.

There were maybe 10 - 15 of us........ it was so cool and an intimate setting. Afterwards, there were a couple of us who talked to Johnny and Heather...... I told Heather she really needs to gain weight...... well she walks 6 miles a day......... so I handed her some cookies they had out, candy, etc and told her to EAT! lol Johnny just said he'd eat and I offered to eat for her too. lol

It was totally awesome and Trisha was awesome as usual. She was wearing red high heel shoes and the first thing I thought of was "there's no place like home" since she said the shoes were killing her feet..... and since she will be playing with Garth in Kansas City.... She is so funny, down to earth, and makes you feel like you have known her forever. That's the way it has been since the first time I met her in '91.

I'm glad to have met everyone - and yes, definitely looking forward to seeing her on my birthday on November 3rd!!!!!!!
TRISHAFAN4LIFE
Thank you Amber for the pictures!!!!!

I do have to add that I did mention to the guy from Sirius Radio that I do hear Trisha on Sirius satellite radio more than I do the local Nashville stations. Then I told him I love my Sirius radio - which I do and of course had to mention that I love it also because of the 24/7 Elvis Presley radio station. What more could a person want - Elvis and Trisha? lol

smile.gif smile.gif Okay, I can't keep from smiling. I was fortunate enough to be in the audience for this event. I am so glad that I was able to get there. I took a day off work--and it was the best decision I have made in a very long time.
I don't know what it is--but Trisha makes me so very nervous even to be in the same room with her!! And with only about 15 people total, I was in awe of that beautiful lady. When she walked by me and put her hand on my shoulder, I about died!! She sat during the interview not more than 10 feet away from us. It was as if we were asking the questions to her personally. She answered all the questions and would look directly at us while doing it. She talked about the different songs on the new cd, and she mentioned about the cookbook with her mother also. It will be a definite buy for me. She seems so proud of that project.
I have not seen a concert from this tour so I had not heard the new songs, except Heaven. What can I say--these songs are magical!! With only Heather and Johnny accompanying her, I was mesmerized by her singing. It was beyond anything I could ever imagine being able to witness. I keep asking myself-how did I get so lucky.
I just want to thank Amber for putting this together and giving me this opportunity. It is a day that I will file away as one of the best I have had in participating in the career of Trisha Yearwood. And THANK YOU Trisha for being the beautiful person that you are!! Even if I will never get over my anxiety when I am in the same room with you!! I'll be smiling for a very long time!! Well girls there is not much left to say other than to repeat that we had an awesome time. Cindy you and the others did a great job with the details.
It was nice to meet TRISHAFAN4LIFE, Music 1 and the others that were there. Music1, my sister Linda (Ninny) and I enjoyed sitting beside you and getting to chat some. You could not have said it better when you spoke about making the choice to attend. It was one of the best experiences that we have had over the many years with Trisha.
Amber it was so good to see you again also. You are truly a delight and lots of fun. Thanks for putting up with all our talking and teasing. We were just so happy. I am especially glad that I got the chance to tell Trisha how special it was that we were given the chance to be there and thank her.
As everyone said Trisha looked beautiful and sounded incredible.
Thanks again to the powers that be for letting us share such a great time. Cindy....special thanks to you for all you did for us. After these two surgeries I have had in the past two months, I would not have been able to deal with the wheelchair without you. THANKS!!!
Happy early birthday TRISHAFAN4LIFE and hope to see you in Atlanta. biggrin.gif
TRISHAFAN4LIFE
Hey Mary - it was great to meet you too!!! It was so wonderful to meet everyone!!!! Me and my sister were there - although I got into the excitement of meeting everyone from Team Trisha, I forgot to introduce my sister Mary...... When you're in the presence of Trisha - well I don't know about you all, but my mind just goes blank. I just knew who Cindy was and then started asking everyone who they were........ lol I loved Smile that she sang that is a Gene Autry song!

I don't remember all of the songs either - but I love all of them and can't wait til' the album comes out!!!!

We'll definitely be in Georgia on my b'day!!!! Can't wait!!!

Didn't think I would look forward to 42 but like Trisha said about being in your 40's - it's a great place to be!!! biggrin.gif

Amber - I must say again, thank you so very much for giving us this opportunity!!!!

Mary is was great meeting you! I agree that taking the day off was well worth it. I really wasn't thinking that I could go since I just got back from Alaska a few weeks ago, but my bosses are really into music (they are diehard rock and roll fans) and they certainly understood! They are constantly amazed at the pictures I share with them of meeting Trisha, as well as the front row seats we get to her shows.

Carolyn, you know you, Linda and Mary Ann are like sisters to me, so I'm always willing to help whenever I can. So glad we were all able to go and I certainly enjoyed riding with you ladies to and from Nashville. Too funny about getting stuck in that carpool lane! Oh, the adventures we have had because of Trisha - can't wait for the next one!!

Trishafan4life, I'm sure we've met before, but since we all go to so many Trisha shows, it is hard to know exactly where!! Too cool that you will be celebrating your birthday at the Atlanta show - what a grand way to celebrate!! Maybe we can get Trisha to sing you Happy Birthday. Ok, guess the countdown is on to November 3rd! biggrin.gif

Hi, I am REALLY hoping you guys can help me. I was listening to a Sirius Music channel, yesterday, and heard Trisha sing a song that I have never heard before. I have been trying to remember the song and find it, but no luck so far. It was a beautiful ballad and I THINK it was called "The Only One" or something like that. It didn't sound like country at all, but it was beautiful! Pleas help.

Could it be "For Only You" from the Sex and the City soundtrack?
TRISHAFAN4LIFE
If it wasn't on New Country or Prime Time Country, then it was probably For Only You. You can catch her songs on super shuffle sometimes, and some of the lite music stations.......
