Garth Brooks is preparing to do a fundraising concert for California fire victims in the recent disaster.

It seems to be planned in/around Los Angeles, but I have no dates available.

I think this is a wonderful thing for him to do. Many people need so much including homes, and this is wonderful.

Country superstar GARTH BROOKS will perform a benefit gig in January (08) to raise funds for the victims of the recent California wildfires.
Brooks will take the stage at Los Angeles' Staples Center on 26 January for the concert, which will also raise money for the future of firefighting in the region.
Brooks, who recently came out of retirement to play his first gigs since the late 1990s, responded to a request from local officials to play the benefit.
He says, "I'm flattered they've asked, and I'm honoured to accept. This is going to take a team effort like nothing I have ever been a part of before." Fires burned at numerous locations throughout southern California last month (Oct07), resulting in the evacuation of 500,000 people.

What a terrific thing to do! I'm sure Garth will make it a huge success!

Those fires were such a tragedy and so much help is needed.

Even more so now. Malibu is once again on fire, as of this morning.

I couldn't believe it when I saw Malibu was on fire again! I know we always hear more about the celebrities that lost their homes, but my heart really goes out to those that didn't have that much to begin with and lost everything in the fires.
