You know, I've been waiting for this...I'm a member of Faith's fan club, too. What is it about albums getting pushed back this year. It seems every album I'm excited about gets pushed back. I hope it's soon!

This sounds like a great collection, although it's missing her very first hit "Wild One," as well as 'Let's Go to Vegas," and a few others. "Beautiful," is perhaps a new one as I don't recall it and I'm familiar with Faith's music. I'm glad she'll finally have a greatest hits out!

Thanks for the info Sandi. I was a big Faith fan in the beginning, now not quite as much, but cool to see her put out a greatest hits. However, I wonder why she would leave out Wild One, "the one that brought her." blink.gif

i've been looking forward to this for a while now. I am dispointed in the song selection. I thought there would have been more than that. I was hoping for some new songs too.

Isn't Beautiful a new song?

I am not a big Faith Hill fan, but I do like some of her songs. I also like the writer - I am so bad with names - who wrote Butterflies? - from her last cd. She was so down to earth, and I really liked her when she was on Oprah last year.

On an aside, did anyone hear Melinda's version of "There Will Come a Day"? Oh my goodness! It was just amazing. It only took a few bars, and I forgot that it was Faith's song - she made it her own and it was so beautiful! Just thought I would mention that.

I saw it and thought it was fantastic also! I think it will come down to Melinda and Jordin, with Melinda being my pick for American Idol this year.

I believe this would be Lori McKenna you're thinking about. She is a singer/songwriter from the folk music scene in Boston.

No. Beautiful was on her Cry album. And it was never a single. I don't know why it's on the greatest hits.

Unless it is a new song. But, I don't think it is. I haven't heard. I'm just assuming it's the same song.

Yes, that's her! She's released a few albums. You can find them on amazon.com

and I believe she is now on Tim's new label and working on a new cd.

and FYI, it's Fireflies not Butterflies!!!

I'm sorry - I got the name of the song wrong too!!! lol! I told you I am bad with names!!!! Thanks for setting me straight and for her name. Lori McKenna - she was so good on Oprah! And she sang a song that actually made Oprah cry - or I should say she sang a small part of it. But then they had to stop, as the show was supposed to be about Faith - not about Lori. But I wanted to hear more of that song and Lori! smile.gif

^ haha yea. No biggie. Yea, she's pretty good. Her songwriting is amazing.

I hear that the live version of "Piece Of My Heart" sticks closer to the hit version that Janis Joplin did with Big Brother and the Holding Company in 1968--not that Faith (or anyone else for that matter) could ever sound like Janis.

Now it may be extreme bias on my part (which I don't blush for), but one of the reasons that I never really cared much for Faith Hill was the hoe-down version she did of that song on her debut album. The other was the fact that she went on record as saying she had never even heard Janis' version before recording hers, which even some die-hard country music fans who are friends of mine found more than a little bit hard to swallow.
