Just wondering what everyone thought of the show last night. I personally thought it was one of the better awards shows for country music recently. Reba was great as always. (A couple of the jokes I could have done without.) Loved her duet with Kelly (can't wait for that cd). Was it me or did Reba get quite emotional during that performance?

Loved Sugarland's performance! They were soo robbed of the "Brooks and Dunn Award" laugh.gif I can't wait to talk to them about it Sunday night! BTW, you know Kenny will be fired up, should be such a blast! tongue.gif

Miranda did awesome and I was so happy she won the new female vocalist. I was also very happy for LBT to win new group. How cute was Kimberly? Next year - group for them.

Although its not my favorite song, I loved when Taylor Swift sang "Tim McGraw" with her acoustic guitar and walked right up to Tim and Faith and sang it directly to him. Very cool how she introduced herself afterwards. Gotta love Reba's reaction of "If there are any teenage boys who want to write a song called 'Reba McEntire'...Just sayin'." Very funny. My favorite part of the night.

I also enjoyed Tim and Faith's performances, both very powerful songs. And don't shoot me, but I actually enjoyed Big and Rich's performance - that is the first song of theirs I like.

That's just my two cents on the ACMs last night. cool.gif

I enjoyed them overall. I thought Reba and Kelly were good. I also really thought the Tim McGraw Song was very moving...and I loved Vince's guitar playing!! smile.gif

I also thought Reba did a good job hosting. I was surprised Alan Jackson wasn't there. It has been awile since I have seen and award show w/o AJ!

the show was great! Tim was my favorite performance of the night. Faith was amazing as usuale. I was very happy for Miranda. She defintly deserved it. I was also happy for Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins. After all those years, they finally made it!

The duet between Reba & Kelly was just okay to me. I think mainly because, I love Kelly's version of that song so much. And it was so popular for her. That it's hard for me to hear it as a duet.

But, overall. The show was great. I was actually pleased with all the winners. Except, album of the year. That really should have gone to George Strait.

And I was also very happy for Brad! I am so happy he finally one male vocalist. He's awesome!

and yay for Kenny again! Defintly deserving of it.

I didn't see either Tim or Faith's performance but since I'm not really a big fan of either it's not a loss to me. As far as the Reba/Kelly duet I feel the same way as somebody else said, I love Kelly's version so much that I wasn't fussy on it as a duet. Plus, Kelly didn't get to sing that much on it. I was surprised when Martina sang "Anyway" since usually she will debut her next single which I believe is "How I Feel". I thought it was odd she didn't sing her next single and then I thought that the new single isn't a song where she's blowing the roof off and I get the feeling with her that she likes to get up there and belt it out. I like Martina but I feel she oversings sometimes. I felt bad for Taylor Swift because she really looked and sounded nervous. Also, when she made it over to Tim I had to laugh because Faith had her arm through Tim's and it almost looked to me like she was trying to say "stay away from my man". I also didn't think Tim looked all that comfortable and when he finally did give Taylor a hug it didn't seem like much. I thought about Garth and if that had happened to him and you know he would have really showered that girl with affection. I get the idea that Tim and Faith like to keep fans at arms length and honestly, Faith looked a little strained, almost jealous while Taylor was in front of them. Anyway, it wasn't the worst show I've seen but it wasn't the best either.

XM is already playing Faith's new single--I've heard worse, although this is nothing that stands out and grabs me, either.

I believe that the Reba/Kelly Clarkson duet has also been sent out to radio, so if you want to hear it, request it. smile.gif

I agree with your comments. I thought the duet was a little anti-climatic and Kelly did such a great job on her single, that it was hard for me not to want to hear Kelly sing more. But then I had to remember it is Reba's duet CD.

As far as the Taylor Swift thing, I kept thinking to myself, Tim don't just stand there, help the girl out, don't just let her flounder. I don't understand why he didn't seem a little more flattered or something. The whole thing felt awkward, when it really didn't have to be.

I agree the Taylor Swift/ Time McGraw part was a little awkward.

The Taylor Swift/Tim McGraw thing was a bit awkward, but he and Faith were very sweet to her. I liked the Reba/Kelly duet, but they are both such entertainers that I was disappointed to see them just stand there like they did. It seems most of you aren't big Faith fans, but I love her and loved her new song. I think Tim's performance and Rascal Flatts' performance was a highlight for me...so emotional. I was sooooo happy to see Brad get Male Vocalist. He's so deserving of that award...probably one of the most underappreciated artists in country music. I was also disappointed Martina didn't sing her new single. I like "Anyway," but I'm ready to see her sing something else on TV. I was crying when Little Big Town won. They have so much talent, it's ridiculous! I loved Sugarland's performance! They always look like they are having so much fun. They should have dethroned Brooks & Dunn (I like them, too, but it's time for someone else to have their moment).

I thought that maybe Taylor should have started moving towards Tim a little later in the song, since she was in front of them for so long before the song ended, but other than that it was one of my favorite moments. smile.gif

The best part of the Award show was Rodney Atkins Winning the ACM top new male artist award other then that the show was boring as hell and so predictable.

I won't comment on this anymore for the fear of getting banned again LOL!!!
