"I was just watching Josh Turner's new video, "Another Try" (below), which features PopWatch favorite Trisha Yearwood on background vocals, and lord, they sound pretty together. It got me wondering: What songs have featured the best background vocals? Not that you're limited to country (I'll cast a vote for Richie Sambora on Wanted Dead or Alive), but I don't think it gets better than Keith Urban guesting on Trisha Yearwood's hit-waiting-to-happen, "Let the Wind Chase You."

I heard this story on the Offstage Trisha did with Lorianne Crook a couple of years ago. You have to hear Trisha tell it because it is hysterical, but basically, she was in the studio with Garth to put down her vocals for Shameless, and he was trying to get her to belt it out like he had never heard her before. After doiing take after take, she kept saying, I am belting it out the best I can, but he just kept egging her on to get it out of her. Finally she got really p'oed and said something like how's this and proceeded with what we now have on the Shameless record. Lorianne was like, that's why we've never heard you like that on record before and Trisha was like, well I have never been that mad on record before! LOL!!
