Please keep my oldest granddaughter Emma in your prayers. She suffered a grand mal seizure on Friday morning.
She was sitting on the stairs talking to her mom, when she went face first down the stairs. Her arms were shaking and she was gurgling and spitting. Her mom takes care of patients and so knew it was a seizure. They brought her to the hospital, where they did some tests. But she is going to her own doctor on Tuesday and then to a neurologist. It seems this is her 2nd seizure, she had a small one a few weeks ago.
Epilepsy runs in both families, so it is possible she has it. Mike's first cousin has it, as well as his great aunt and uncle (2 out of 3 siblings). And Rebecca's aunt had a terrible time with seizures as a child.
It was such a scarey day on Friday, as I raced to the hospital. I couldn't do anything, so I babysat the little ones so both Mike and Becca could stay with Emma. Everyone has been so nervous. Mike was terrified to keep her this week-end, as he asked me what to do if she had another one. I told her to just keep her safe and that's about all he could do.
Anyways, it has been a really rough week. I still don't have my computer back, although i do have hot water now! yay!
Thanks everyone for being such great friends! Sure am glad to have you all!
Love, Debbie

I must have missed this post while recovering from having my wisdom teeth pulled this weekend, but ditto what Sandi said. I hope Emma gets well really soon. And I hope things get better. If anybody deserves it, its you. You are such a great friend to me and the rest of us here. You know what to do if you need anything at all. Love ya Debbie! {hugs}

Hi Debbie, I know Emma will be just fine! I can imagine the fears and worries...it's so hard when a child is suffering! But she has You, and Ted and all your prayers, and I hope you know that You are all in my prayers! Take care of YOU! Talk soon!

Debbie,
I know you've had a terrible couple of months and I know God will get you and Ted thru this too. The main thing is to make sure she doesn't choke - my mom had a form of epilepsy too - she had something like a mouth guard piece or something I remember that had to put in her mouth. Sorry I don't remember the details, but my mother's been deceased almost 32 years.
My prayers are sent your way and take care of yourself also!!!!
love, hugs, and prayers sent your way!!!!
