Ok, I just received this tidbit as a myspace bulletin, and after picking my jaw up off the ground I thought I'd share.

Ok, I think this might be the most "interesting" Crossroads of all - Taylor Swift and Def Leppard. Huh?! blink.gif I mean, I loved DL back in the day and I like some of Taylor's songs, but the two acts together, I just don't see it. I can totally see Taylor rockin' out to DL's classics, but can you imagine Joe Elliot trying to sing on Taylor's songs? Should be worth watching to see how they pull it off. I'm sure they'll have fun with it, but what an odd mix. They are taping in October and the show will air November 8.

I don't know, Taylor can rock. smile.gif

And it definitely can't be worse than Sara Evans and Maroon 5.... blink.gif And what was that special with Shania and Alison Krauss? I felt so bad for Alison. unsure.gif
TYfan4ever
Yeah, you're right, it can't be worse than the Sara/Maroon 5 one - and Taylor can rock.

I'm sure Taylor can rock, but what a generation gap! What in the world are they going to talk about during the interview part of the show? I wonder what made them choose these two artists...
sandis
But isn't that the whole point of a "Crossroads"? Artists that you wouldn't normally think of together? If it doesn't work, oh well. I think she'll be able to hold her own.

If people are worried about Def Leppard singing her songs, it'll be just as funny as watching James Taylor sing Wide Open Spaces or Ready to Run. smile.gif

Who would've thought Tim McGraw and Def Leppard? The song Nine Lives on DL's new album has Tim McGraw on it.

Should be interesting to watch........ although I have to admit I didn't know Def Leppard was still performing......... blink.gif biggrin.gif

I loved Def Leppard back in the early '80's........ Photograph, Rock of Ages....... now the question is can they keep up with Taylor??? Rock on!!! tongue.gif laugh.gif

I cant get into Taylor's live voice....sad.gif

The ACMs CMAs and CMT Awards and live with Brad in Pittsburgh just left me scratching my head.....they can do wonders with recordings now a days!
And I agree Sara/Maroon 5 YIKES

You may be surprised. I think the real question will be whether she can keep up with them. The "old" rockers can still teach the newbies a thing or two.

Oh, I know. I was joking about Def Leppard keeping up with Taylor. I used to listen to Def Leppard's cassettes, Journey, Led Zeppelin, Bob Seger, 38 Special........ all the "Old rockers" when I went to college on my "walkman"..... I won't go see Journey because Journey isn't Journey without Steve Perry......... I've seen Bob Seger on his last tour here in Nashville........

It's like seeing MAMMA MIA - and seeing the outfits with stacks...... yeah, I couldn't wear those things now, but they were cool back then!!! and Kiss in the day - Alice Cooper in "the day".........

We took our daughter to see MAMMA MIA and she laughed at the '70's concert outfits...... of course she's seen Elvis Presley's at Graceland....... what I laughed at was watching the teenagers at the theater arriving at the movie theaters to see the movies......... kids driving Lexus', Mercedes, one driving a Safari - very nice vehicles with the latest in cell phones............... This is a city where a lot of the country singers live and the city has a lot of money but what happened to the good "old" days???? I'll take the good "old rockers" any day........ Okay, I went off the deep end.......... blink.gif laugh.gif

the '70's and early 80's were the best years for music - IMHO........... Go Def Leppard!

My daughter loves Taylor Swift and the younger people though - of course........ the way things should be. Although she does like Trisha! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
