Brad Paisley, others to do show for prez debate media

Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama square off Oct. 7 at Belmont in the last of the three great debates.

The tension is so thick, you can cut it with a knife! All this animosity, accusations, acrimony — it’s a real pressure cooker, people! How do you relieve all this pressure?!?!?

Why, with some good ol’ country music, of course.

Brad Paisley, Josh Turner, Trisha Yearwood and Julie Roberts – who all happen to be Belmont grads — will entertain the hundreds of national and regional media members who will be descending on our fair city for the debate.

The four performers will put on an Opry-type show at the Ryman two days before the debate.

Sorry, the event is closed to the public. But if you’ve got an old college buddy who works at CNN….

Trisha doesn't yet know which candidate will get her vote. "I'm the one who goes back and forth. I'm really kind of a moderate if I had to pick one. I'm more an independent than one or the other, so I listen and get swayed, and then I listen to the other side and get swayed."

She'll vote early in Tennessee. "I'm hoping when I early vote, then the remaining 20 days I'm not going to change my mind. I'm not hedging; I'm just undecided."

Trisha hasn't asked her husband, Garth Brooks, whom he's voting for, but she says he is consistently more conservative than she is, so she thinks she knows. "But I don't know for sure."

Thank you for the posts Sandi ~ biggrin.gif

2,500 - 3,000 people are supoosed to be at Belmont for the debate -tomorrow.

For those here in the Nashville area, you may want to check out TDOT for road closures around Belmont! rolleyes.gif They're telling people to park at Greer stadium and shuttles will take you to Belmont ONLY if you have the security badges!!! Not sure what time when the motorcades are coming in but they've already closed some streets and will definitely have them closed tomorrow.

I believe that some roads were already closed as of yesterday, and at least one of the candidates was already in town.
