Totally awesome! Thank you for sharing! biggrin.gif Awesome video too! It was really fascinating watching our troops, veterans, and families coming together watching Trisha perform at Ft. Knox!!!! My husband is a disabled American vet - served during war time during Desert Shield/Storm and retired in 2002. We, as miliitary families, are very grateful when artists perform for our troops which brightens their day and what a great way to spend family time together since being active duty family time is scarce!!!!!

Anyway, awesome video and wonderful memories of that day!!! Hoorah!!

Thank you again for sharing!!! biggrin.gif

From one of the many military families from 101st Airborne Division - Air Assault!!!! Hooah!!! Hooah! Hooah!!! Trisha is the best!!!! biggrin.gif

Hey Robin,

My daughter loved The Sound of Music at the age 4!! Yes, rather than regular cartoons and kid shows, she would watch musicals! The Sound of Music was her very first one and we've watched it at least 50 times...... wink.gif She also loved Mary Poppins, Shirley Temple movies......... she wasn't your typical 4 year old. She still loves musicals and music (she's in high school). Her latest musical that she liked was Abba! the movie and before that Rent and high school musical movies.......

Trisha was awesome singing this and brought back wonderful memories from my daughters younger years. smile.gif

TRISHA YEARWOOD'S VERSION OF 'MY FAVORITE THINGS' FOR SEARS 'HEROES AT HOME' PROGRAM ONLINE NOW

NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ By Tiffany Shipp/ Sunshine, Sachs & Associates) - Hearst Magazines and Sears have announced that one of the highest-selling female artists in Country music history, Trisha Yearwood has donated her time and talent to Sears' Heroes At Home program by recording a stunning version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, "My Favorite Things," available exclusively for free download online at www.Sears.com. There fans can also learn about what they can do to help deserving military families.

Trisha's silky interpretation of "My Favorite Things" is a must-add to any holiday playlist and brings to mind the simple pleasures in life.
In addition to the song, fans can watch the music video on Sears.com which features Trisha in two of her favorite places - in the studio and on the stage. The video compiles footage shot in Nashville's Sound Emporium recording studio as well as clips from her September concert for military families at the Fort Knox Army Base in Kentucky.

"The holidays are a time when, hopefully, families can celebrate the simple things together. My best memories center around time with my family enjoying a delicious home-cooked dinner and laughing over our special memories," says Trisha. "This holiday season may be tougher than most for a lot of my fans, who have become part of my extended family. When I was asked to be part of the Heroes At Home program, which honors not just our troops but their families here at home, I decided to record one of MY favorites. "My Favorite Things" expresses a simple but special concept."

There is maybe no better voice in country music to sing about "crisp apple strudels, doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles," than a vocalist who has added New York Times Bestselling author to her resume. Trisha recently turned her favorite hobby into a family project when she collaborated with her mom Gwen and sister Beth on a cookbook that combines anecdotes and more than 120 simple and easy recipes from the Yearwood clan. Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen debuted on the New York Times Bestseller list in April 2008

The Heroes at Home program provides support to service members, veterans and their families through joint efforts with various nonprofit organizations, including Rebuilding Together and the United Service Organizations (USO). The Heroes at Home program has helped hundreds of military families across America, and the Wish Registry continues Sears Holdings' support of the men and women who serve our country.

Hi TRISHAFAN4LIFE,

I am so glad that somebody else's daughter is as into musicals as mine is! LOL! My now 13 year old loves any and all musicals! She is in Chorus in her middle school and for 7th grade last school year they got to go to New York and perform plus see all the amazing sights. Of course as her Mother, I just had to go and chaperone! LOL! It was both of our dreams to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. I wish you could have seen both of us at the end of it just sitting there with tears running down our faces! Just beautiful! We are now training our youngest daughter who is four to love musicals and her favorite is The Sound Of Music. The afternoon that I listened to Trisha singing "My Favorite Things" on the computer, both of them came running into the office because they knew the song. When it was over my oldest said to me "That was Trisha, Mom! How beautiful!" They both have been brought up on Trisha and can recognize her voice anywhere! By the way, my husband is retired Air Force and I am a sap for anything that helps the troops out.

Lish- The first thing I thought when I heard this was Standards album! LOL! Keeping my fingers crossed!
