Since this is a special year since Trisha's cookbook came out, I thought we would do a special Thanksgiving thread this year.
So those of you who have the cookbook or one of Trisha's recipies from Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen. Post your Happy Thanksgiving message here and if you plan on making one of the dishes from the cookbook for your family this holiday..post which recipe your are going to try.
Then after Thanksgiving come back and post how it went! Or remember you can call 615-823-7316!
I'll go first....
To Trisha & the entire Yearwood - Brooks family,
Everyone here at Trisha Talk and TrishaYearwood.com wish you a safe, happy, and most of all a delicious Thanksgiving!!! I am making the No-Baste, No- Bother Turkey this year! I't's only my second Turkey on my own so I will let you know how it goes!

Hey Trisha,
I hope you and yours have an incredible Turkey Day.
I have made quite a few things from the cookbook and enjoyed them all. I was planning on trying the cranberry salad for Thanksgiving, but I am going in for gallbladder surgery tomorrow. No cooking for me this year and unfortunately not too much eating either, but next year I am going to rip it up.
Enjoy,
Denise

Trisha - I love you!!!!
I made my 2nd turkey in my life (we won't even talk about the first one in '84!!!!). Well I was very skeptical and so was my husband. When I told him we're having Trisha turkey (that's what I will call it from now on!) he said I've got to be kidding when I told him how I was going to cook it....... So he said we needed to try it before giving it to anyone else......... lmao! So....... I bought a bigger turkey than what was on your recipe but just adjusted the time and amounts.
Anyway, at 1:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving day we carefully took off the lid and whoa-la!! the turkey legs had fallen to the side - it was the best Turkey!!!!!!!!!! My mother-in-law loved it too!!!! (yes, that was a major accomplishment for me - at 43 years old lol!) We had family in from North Carolina, friends and other family members as well and LOVED the turkey, Garth's recipe for broccoli casserole, his deviled eggs, and your mashed potatoes!!!! Who would have ever thought I could cook great!!!! not me! lol
I love, love, love your cookbook!!!!!! I've tried a lot of the recipes and they are fantastic!!!!!!!!!!! I've not been one for cooking but with your cookbook it is easy, no extravagant ingredients - it's all simple - and that's my way of cooking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So thank you for your awesome cookbook, you made my Thanksgiving day and my family's as well!!!!! (Now that I know how to cook a turkey, we're going to have it more often - seriously!)
Haven't made any of the sweet stuff yet as I am hypoglycemic as well as our daughter; my husband has diabetes and my two step-children have blood sugar problems. With that being said, I may surprise my husband and family by actually making a dessert......
Again, thank you for your awesome cookbook - it's the best ever!!!!!! Do we have another cookbook with more recipes coming out????
Maybe a Trisha, Garth, Gwen and Beth cookbook??? lol
I hope you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving!!!!!
I'm very grateful for you Trisha!!!
Love Always and God Bless!
Angelina (the cook........ who knew??!!!

Angelina-
You can make the baked goods for your family by using half whole wheat flour, half all purpose/self rising (whichever the recipe takes) flour and switching the sugar out to Splenda. The texture will be slightly denser, but the taste is there and it shouldn't spike anyone's blood sugar.

Thank you soooo much for the suggestions!!!! I used to love chocolate but now I can't eat it.......

I can handle 3 Musketeers occassionally, and M & M's...... but that's about the limit of the sweetness I can take........ and I love cheese cake!!!
Again thank you soooooo much for the suggestions!!!! My husband thanks you, I thank you, and my daughter thank you!!
