hello
Jun 5 2007, 07:15 PM
This is a request for everyone to please pray for the safe return of Kelsey Smith, the 18 year old girl who vanished Saturday night in Overland Park, KS from a Target parking lot (she was abducted).
I have been friends with her sister Lindsey since the Smith's first moved to Kansas City in 1999. Though I did not know Kelsey personally, I know many, many people who did. This community is large -- but it is close-knit. We are all distressed. The fact that this happened is simply bizarre and insane to most of us.
I hope everyone can please send up some prayers for her safe return!

I saw this story this morning on the Today Show. My heart just went out to her mom and dad and sister. My prayers are with the entire family.

Unforunately, police found Kelsey's body in a creek about 20 miles from where she was last seen. This is all over the news right now on Fox and CNN and here is the link:

This is, in a word, terrible. And unfortunately, not only isn't it the first time we've heard of something like this, I dare say that it will not be the last.
My prayers go out to her family. I only hope the police can find whoever abducted and (presumably) murdered her and have them arrested.

Erik, it does seem that they have the man who followed her out of the store under arrest. I just hope and pray that it is him, and they bring him to trial and justice prevails! Although, I can't think of anything that will replace this beautiful young woman. My heart broke when I heard the news, that she was found murdered. My prayers are with her family and friends. This is such a horrible crime, and I don't think I will ever get used to news like this. It always makes me cry, and wonder how some people can choose to be so wicked. My heart goes out to everyone who loved Kelsey.
A 15 year old was found alive here in CT yesterday. She had been missing for a year. I don't know how her family has coped all this time. Even though they can rejoice for the fact that she has been found, her life will never be the same. She is going to have to go through so much healing and help, in order to help her grown in any way that is "normal". Again, I don't understand people choosing to be so wicked . . .
