That was really interesting. Thanks for posting it. I was thinking more of her albums went platinum, but I guess not (although they should have). Still, 10 million albums isn't too bad.

Thanks for the article. I've also seen bigger numbers than those. I remember hearing that her first release went double platinum and Songbook was quadruple platinum. Maybe the numbers in the article don't include international sales?

Trisha's certifications ARE as follows
"Trisha Yearwood" 2X Platnium
"Hearts In Armor"-Platnium
"Song Remembers When" Platnium
"Thinkin About You" Platnium
"Sweetest Gift" Gold
"Everybody Knows"Gold
"Songbook" 4X Platnium (certified for sales of 4 million)
"Where Your Road Leads" Platnium
"Real Live Woman"-Gold
"Inside Out" Gold
"Jasper County" Gold
"Heaven Heartache and The Power of Love" nada
Sooo I dont know if MCA and RIAA jumped to certify some of those albums or what. But how on earth did MCA manage to only sell over 550,000 copies of "Thinkin About You" when it had 2 massive hits and 3 other singles?? Better yet how did they manage to get it certified Platnium?? And if you add up all the album singles you get 9,440,000 NOT 10,156,000.........So that means her Christmas album sold 716,000...making it her 4th best selling album?? But yet MCA didnt push that to platnium but the studio albums selling 100,000's less did??? I think maybe just maybe those numbers arent that acurate!
Plus she had lots of sales outside the US especially with Songbook

Also certification does indicate the units shipped not sold, but those are alot of albums sent back
