Bummer, it just brings us here...where is the rest of her favorite things? And where do we add ours? That was only music--which by the way she has excellent taste, I agree, except that I'd Definately Include HER Songs!! And I need a convertable--now that would be Cool!!

Thanks, Amber. My favorite is planting tomato plants. There is nothing like a tomato that you have grown yourself or gotten from someone who loves you and grew you one.

As for music signifying spring...it's anything up-tempo that makes me smile and sing along. My favorite thing about spring is being able to walk my dogs. I live in the country and we have a great road we walk along with very little trafic, but lots of birds chirping and we even encounter a few deer and the cows at the farm on the corner. It reminds me of walking with my grandmother when I was growing up and that is my favorite thing ever!

What I find interesting is that everyone who has posted and everyone I have talked to has said that the music they listen to in the spring is uptempo. No matter what genre they listened to..it at least so far has all been faster songs, songs with rthymn. Think it is just the folks i've talked to or do you guys all find that to be true?

I totally agree! I love good, fun, rockin' music in the spring and summer. I love blasting some uptempo Trisha and a wide variety of other fast music in the car!

I definitely listen to uptempo songs in the spring. I have to watch myself if I am driving as I can have a lead foot! LOL! Now, that I am usually driving my girls everywhere I do watch myself! I recently had a Trisha marathon for a couple of weeks where I started with her very first CD and played them all up to HHPOL. It is funny that both of my girls (one 5, and the other 13) can sing all the songs to Georgia Rain and HHPOL!

Evidence based practice does suggest this to be true, uptempo songs fair much better in the summer and ballads tend to fair better in the winter. The human brain releases different chemicals based off the amount of sunlight it receives. I guess it can be based back to if you were living in the wild you need the extra kick in the spring for breeding, feeding and so on. Winter is classically a more dormant time of year. A ballad usually has a better chance at charting higher in the winter rather than spring/summer

Spring surely means spending time on the John Deere and in the garden. My husband works a lot so it's always been my job. Having been raised on a dairy farm her in New England, I'm no stranger to work boots and gloves...

The only difference from when I was a kid is the IPod with you know who playing constantly. The neighbors get a real kick trying to guess what I'm listening too, as I sing away, and they can tell when it's upbeat as I move faster on the mower! (they take their pets and kids inside)

The smell of the sweet grass in the spring, there's nothing like it.

Happy Spring and Hello Summer to all my TY friends!

Stay well,
Carrie

Home grown tomatoes are definitely one of the best parts of summer, so planting my tomato plants is a favorite spring ritual. I love the whole spring gardening ritual....tomatoes, eggplant, corn, cantelope, annuals....

Spring is probably my favorite time of the year - simply because it's not too hot - not too cold........ and life coming back for trees, flowers, birds chirping, rabbits, seeing deer, etc. Tennessee, as you know, the weather changes everyday........ I love standing out in the rain - with the sun shining, singing............ ~ I'm singing in the Rain, Just singing in the Rain........... really! lol biggrin.gif

Music...... well, have to have Bob Seger, Prince, Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, Journey (only with Steve Perry), 38 Special...... Definitely upbeat 70's - 80's music, windows rolled down - moon roof open - oh yeah - Spring is good! biggrin.gif
