I just found out that I am going to see Trisha at the Melody Tent! I've seen her there before and she was wonderful as always. I will be taking my 14 year old cousins to their very first concert, who I've been playing Trisha's music to most of their lives.
Here's where I need some help for people if possible. Right now, neither of them have any Trisha CD's. There is no way I can pick a favorite or a couple of favorite CD's because I have them all and love them all. I want to get them each one, besides Songbook, what other one do you all think should I get them?
Thanks in advanced for all your help.

You're right with Songbook - obviously because it has all the hits that I'm sure Trisha will play at the concert. I would probably consider Jasper County because its her most recent CD and I'm pretty sure she'll do some stuff from it. Or, if I was introducing someone to Trisha's music I would give them either Hearts in Armor or Real Live Woman because there my favourites and I think show Trisha in her best form. Hope this helps and enjoy the show!!!

Jasper County, because it's just probably one of her best.

You are right about Songbook, and like the others said - Jasper County. That way they will know some of the songs she will be doing at the concert. Trisha tends to sing quite a few songs from her latest cd (Jasper County) at her concerts - and then a mixture of her greatest hits over the past years. So those two cd's would probably cover most of the songs they will hear at the concert.
I hope you all have a great time at the concert. There is nothing better than seeing Trisha in concert! They will love it - and you will too! Have fun!
By the way, we (my husband and I) will be at that concert as well. And I can't wait either!!!

Thanks everyone. I ended up getting Songbook and Jasper County and I might just have to lend them everything else. I can't let them miss out on Real Live Women and other songs from after Songbook.
Deb, have you seen her at the Melody Tent before? I saw her there two years ago I think. It's a great place to see her but it's a little bit bigger then some of the other places she plays up this way.

No, I haven't seen her at the Melody Tent before. I have seen her at North Shore twice, and then 3 times here in CT at different venues. Two were pretty big, but Foxwoods Theater was also pretty small with about 6,000 seats in it. I think Melody Tent is smaller than that - isn't it? North Shore was around 2,500 seats - and really intimate! I love it when she is there!

While I don't necessarily disagree with what has been said previously, I think another good choice would be "Where Your Road Leads." Of course, she won't be promoting that album, but--in my opinion--it is one of the better ones for being able to listen to all the way through. But perhaps that's only me; anyone else feel that away about that album?

I agree with Jasper County...that's the stuff she'll be singing, so they'll be able to be familiar with it. Plus the songs on it are so happy that they'll be singing them all the time.

I guess I was picking cd's that would help the girls to enjoy the concert better. That's why I picked Songbook and Jasper County. It would give them most of the songs to learn so they could sing along with Trisha! But as far as favorite cd's go - well that's another thing! I love so many of her cd's - for all sorts of reasons. I put in her "Thinking About You" cd when I want to hear "On a Bus . . ." and "You can sleep while I Drive". It is bluesy and mellow - and I love it! But then I love "Inside Out" because it was the first time I met Trisha! Each cd has it's memories and emotions that go with it. And I love them all!
But for this specific reason - I would have the girls listen to those 2 cd's the most. So they can learn the words and sing along during the concert. Because most of the songs she will do - will be from those cd's. Although she also puts in a few x-tras here and there - which always makes me so happy!
But if the girls had enough time - I would have them listen to
all of her cd's. That way they can get to love her like we do!

Real Live Woman is really good. Trisha's voice is so fantastic and the music is great to listen to. And then Jasper County gives a good up-to-date sound of her beautiful voice. But, I would say "any" Trisha CD would be a great gift!

Danielle, My suggestion for your cousins, get them both a copy of EVERY cd. Then they will have the "addiction" the rest of us have! Have a blast at the show and let us know what your cousins think. 3 days until my show at Hampton Beach!

I could conceivably be in a minority here, but I would recommend her 2000 album Real Live Woman, because I think it is an album that not only defines the kind of singer she is, but also separates her from pretty much every other female artist in Nashville.

Thanks everyone. They loved the cd's, but it turns out I had already gotten them Jasper County. I completely agree about Real Live Woman. I might have to go on a hunt for that one and Inside Out for their collection.
