I live in Owasso, Oklahoma and wanted to tell Trisha that I finally got her 1st cookbook. I have been reading it like a regular book. I love all of Trisha's personal comments as well as her Mom and sister. Tonight I made the Hamburger Potato Casserole. My husband loved it and he doesn't like cheese (I didn't tell him!

Thank you for the book and I look forward to making other things in your book . . . and look forward to your new book.

I can only imagine that being who you are and married to who you are married to it is hard to have a normal life but I know that you both try very hard to provide that life style for your family and I admire you for that!

I don't buy as many cookbooks as I used to. I thumbed through this one and I'm glad that I did. I just had to buy it. It is one of the best ever. Not one recipe that I don't want to try. I had the cabbage roll recipe years ago and I used to make it for my Mom & Dad every time that I went back to New Mexico to see them. It was one of Dad's favorites. It's funny, cookbooks don't usually bring tears to my eyes, but this one did. It stirred up memories of my Mom & Dad (both went home to their Lord in 2008). Wish I could have made a few of these dishes for them. Guess I'll just have to use them to wow my new lady friend. EXCELLENT! Anybody who cooks and loves great food NEEDS this book. It's not just "another" cookbook, it's one of the best EVER! seriously.

Got the second cookbook yesterday; took several tried as Wal*mart, Sams and three B&N didn't have it. I can't wait to make some of the casseroles they look yummy.

I'm going to make the roast beef tomorrow. There's an error on pg 88, in the hash recipe- it doesn't say to use the 4 TBSP of flour with the fat to make a roux, but I'm pretty sure that was the intent. We should have left over beef so I'm going to have to make the hash as well.

FYI for all of you who are somewhat sloppy cooks: put cling film over the open book so the pages don't get messy. Mum used to do this, and honestly it's kept the first cookbook in fairly good shape, LOL!
