So I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to not only see Trisha at the Opry, but also at Chely Wright's charity event tonight. Needless to say, both events were amazing!!!

At the Opry, Trisha sang "Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love," "Walkaway Joe," and the 'one that brung her,' "She's in Love With the Boy." The crowd absolutely loved her and she obviously sounded flawless! During "She's in Love With the Boy," she had the audience sing the last chorus. Everyone knew the words and seemed to be completely enamored with her! She was wearing black pants, really high heels, and a cute purple top. When she arrived, she mentioned that she had just flown in from Oklahoma and had left her husband grilling burgers (and then said "what a good man!"). It was sweet and the crowd loved the little Garth mention.

After Trisha's set at the Opry, I left and walked over to the Chely Wright event. Trisha showed up shortly after me (she and the band must have bolted from the Opry to get to Chely's event in time!). The crowd was riled up because everyone knew she was the special guest. When the announcer introduced her, he commented on her long friendship with Chely and made sure to mention that she is one of the most classy, down to earth artists (not to mention insanely talented). It was just Johnny and Steve with her at this event. She sang HHPOL, "Believe Me Baby I Lied" (at the request of Chely), "Wrong Side of Memphis," and "Smile." It was awesome!!! After HHPOL, she just asked the audience what they wanted her to sing. People were yelling all sorts of requests! She couldn't even pick one out because everyone was so loud. She heard Chely ask for "Believe Me Baby" and sang it. About half way through she completely forgot the words, but wrapped the song up jokingly and played it off perfectly. The crowd loved it! She also mentioned that she and Garth were out to dinner recently and met a woman, who when introduced to Trisha said, "Oh yea, you're the cookbook lady!" After that, Trisha said she turned to Garth and said "I have got to get back in the studio!" She even mentioned that she plans to head back into the studio soon. Anyway, it was a great night! Trisha is so talented and basically amazing!

Also, I have photos but don't know how to post them!

I doubt it will be on TV...it never has been before, but who knows?

Thank you for your account on the evening's events. I was dying when I heard Trisha was performing at Chely's event. They are 2 of my favorite women in the world and it just kills me that I couldn't be there. It sounds like it was an amazing night!

It won't be on TV unfortunately. It was an amazing night though. Trisha was definitely the highlight for the crowd and Chely seemed thrilled to have her. It was an incredible night.

Dana thanks for your account of the evening's events! Wish I could have been there. It was fun reading about her actually doing a singing event rather than a book signing. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she's doing other things she loves while on a break from singing, but I agree, I want her back in the studio too. I saw her on the "blue" carpet at the CMT Awards and she also mentioned that she's looking at songs and will be back in the studio soon. I know I will be patiently waiting.

I agree! I'm dying for new music from Trisha. I'm also hoping for/patiently waiting for that elusive Garth/Trisha duet album!
