According to The Tennessean, and I had it confirmed by Amber this morning (so it's okay for us to post about it ), Trisha recorded the duet she sings with Reba on Reba's new album this past week. Yeay!

According to our Writer's Night tonight at school the song that Reba and Trisha recorded was written by Bob Regan who also wrote Trisha's Thinkin' About You!

Reba McEntire is wrapping up the final stages of her much talked about Duets album. At least eleven country and pop artists have paired up with Reba for the new project.

Included are, Kenny Chesney, Ronnie Dunn, Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Carole King, Don Henley, Trisha Yearwood, LeeAnn Rimes, and Rascal Flatts.

The first single off the disc will be released next month -- with the album coming sometime in the fall.

Reba Teams With Kelly Clarkson

Country Weekly has learned exclusively that Reba McEntire will debut a new duet with pop superstar Kelly Clarkson on next month’s Academy of Country Music Awards.

April 11, 2007 – “Because of You,” a remake of Kelly’s pop smash, will likely be the first single from Reba’s upcoming album of all-star duets. The idea to record the tune together stemmed from the pair’s February taping for an upcoming episode of CMT’s Crossroads series, during which Reba fell in love with the song. Kelly also appeared at the recent CMT Giants special honoring Reba, and even made a guest appearance on the country superstar’s since-canceled CW-TV series, Reba. In addition to the planned performance, Reba will serve as host for the ACM Awards, set to be broadcast live on CBS from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Tuesday, May 15, at 8 p.m. ET.

Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Faith Hill, Ronnie Dunn, Justin Timberlake, Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, LeAnn Rimes are among the other stars expected to appear on the duets album, due in stores in late September or early October.

Wow! I had no idea about the crossroads or the duet. I really like Kelly Clarkson, and Because Of You is my favorite song of hers. I can't wait to hear how they make that a duet. I am looking forward to the show!

Hmmmm, now that is a surprise. I guess I had thought the first single would be with Kelly, because of the crossroads show. But I guess not. I sure hope the duet with Trisha gets released! But I guess we'll have to wait and see . . .

The episode was filmed recently at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and features duet versions of their biggest hits, including McEntire's "Why Haven't I Heard From You" and "Fancy" and Clarkson's "Because of You," "Walkaway" and "Since You've Been Gone." A studio version of "Because of You" will be included on McEntire's duets album to be released on Sept. 18.
