Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt, Wynonna, Frances Preston, Michael W. Smith and the Crickets make up the second class of inductees to the Music City Walk of Fame. The six will be honored with the unveiling of their stars in the Hall of Fame Park Sunday, April 22. The public is invited to attend the 3 p.m. induction ceremony, which is sponsored by Great American Country.
The new inductees join Reba McEntire, Ronnie Milsap, Roy Orbison, songwriters Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, the Fisk Jubilee Singers, and the late Maestro Kenneth Schermerhorn. The six original inductees received stars last November.
Permanent sidewalk medallions made of stainless steel and terrazzo, with each honoree's name displayed in a star-and-guitar design, will be installed in the sidewalk along the Music Mile, the roughly one-mile stretch of Demonbreun Street from 4th Avenue South to the Music Row Roundabout at 16th Avenue South. The plaques for this class of inductees will be inlaid in Hall of Fame Park on Demonbreun, between 4th and 5th Avenues South.
Nominations are open to the public and are currently being accepted for future honorees, with the next induction ceremony set for November 2007. For more information, including submission guidelines and forms, go to visitmusiccity.com/walkoffame.
